Han Solo wasn't the first bounty Boba Fett hunted for Darth Vader. LucasArts confirmed today that the jet-packing Star Wars fan favorite will be on the trail of Starkiller in The Force Unleashed II.

LucasArts was set to make the announcement at this week's San Diego Comic-Con, but USA Today managed to get the game's writer, Haden Blackman, to crack a bit early.

"Darth Vader is hiring Boba Fett for this top-secret misson. Boba Fett realized that Starkiller has quite a head start on him having escaped from (cloning plant planet) Kamino so he goes after what Starkiller is probably after which is (love interest) Juno (Eclipse)," Blackman told USA Today. "It's easier for him to track down Juno than it is to track down Starkiller and use that to lure Starkiller back into Vader's clutches."

LucasArts is developing Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and Windows PCs. The game is set to ship on October 26.

We got a close look at the game's dual light saber action at this year's E3. See what Will Tuttle had to say about FU2 (patent pending) when Ryan Scott put him in the Interrogation Room.

Sharkey says: Of all of the (over) uses of Boba Fett in the franchise, from movies to comics to books to games, this is one that actually seems to fit. I was already looking forward to FU2. Now I'm counting down to October 26.
