Linkin Park recently debuted its new single in a trailer for Medal of Honor. Now Seattle rockers Soundgarden are upping the music and videogame marriage with plans to release their entire new album bundled with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

All one million North American versions of Activision's upcoming Guitar Hero game will contain Telephantasm, a 12-song, career-spanning album and Soundgarden's first collection of music since 1996. The disc will contain some of the band's greatest hits, obscurities, and a never released track from Badmotorfinger.

"We're extremely excited to be collaborating with Soundgarden on this monumental moment in their music career," said Tim Riley, VP of music affairs for Guitar Hero. "Guitar Hero continues to break new ground by being the preeminent interactive platform for debuting original content and a stage for the biggest acts in all genres of rock and roll to reach new audiences in an all-new way."

The game-packaged album will be available exclusively in Warriors of Rock for one week before it hits retail as a standalone. And all of Telephantasm will be available to play in the game as a free DLC pack.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is being developed by Neversoft for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii. The game is set to ship on September 28.

Sharkey says: Big Soundgarden fan. Badmotorfinger and Superunknown are two of my favorite rock albums. Telephantasm doesn't include much new stuff, which is disappointing, but it's good to see the group back together.
